iOS Home Page Design:

The Rivit TV iOS app serves as a view-only platform, allowing users to explore Rivit TV Originals, watch free pilots, or access episodes they have purchased from the Rivit TV website.

For the home page design, a user-centric approach was adopted:

  1. Show Cards: All Rivit TV shows are presented as prominent show cards. Users can swipe right or left to navigate through the shows. The decision to use large show cards with detailed show information was made to capture users' attention, especially since Rivit TV was a relatively unknown product at the time.

  2. Show Order Logic:

    • Non-Signed In Users: Shows are listed in order based on their web counterparts, with the newest show appearing first.

    • Signed-In Users: For signed-in users, the show order logic is different:

      • The first show displayed is the most recently watched show that the user did not complete.

      • The second show is the next most recently engaged show, following the same rules.

      • This pattern repeats.

      • After this personalized list, standard list logic for non-signed-in users is followed.

This approach was designed to optimize the user experience by prioritizing recent and relevant content for signed-in users while ensuring a captivating and intuitive interface for all users, whether they were familiar with the product or not.

All Shows

To address the challenge of users potentially missing out on shows or becoming fatigued from continuous swiping to navigate through the content, a practical solution was devised.

The Idea:

  • When a user is on the first show card and swipes right, instead of moving to the next individual show, it would reveal a single page displaying all the available shows simultaneously.

This solution aimed to provide users with a more efficient way to view all the shows in one place, eliminating the need for continuous swiping. By optimizing the initial interaction, users could quickly assess all available content, improving their overall experience on the platform.

Continue Watching

The "Continue Watching" feature is designed to enhance the user's experience by facilitating their progress through a show's episodes. Here is the user flow for how this feature operates:

  1. Conditions for Display:

    • The "Continue Watching" bar will appear for signed-in users.

    • It will only appear if the user has access to play the full episode in the app.

    • The bar will exclusively contain full episodes.

  2. Instances of Display:

    • When the user has initiated the pilot episode of a show (on a show in the Pilot or Series stage) but has not completed 95% or more of the pilot, the "Continue Watching" bar may appear.

    • When the user has initiated an episode (on a show in the Series stage) but has not completed 95% or more of the episode, the "Continue Watching" bar may appear.

    • After the user has successfully completed an episode (95% or more), including the pilot episode, and has access to another episode of the same show, the "Continue Watching" bar may display.

The "Continue Watching" feature streamlines the user's journey through episodes, ensuring they can seamlessly resume watching where they left off. It offers a convenient and personalized viewing experience for signed-in users, enhancing their engagement with the platform.
